MY TOP 6 LINKS at the moment
1) Missouri Security Freeze/Credit Freeze Law
Missourians can now put a "true" credit freeze on our Credit Reports. It costs $5.00 to put the 1st freeze on though it is free if you have been the victim of Identity Theft and provide an incident report.
Here are links to the "Big 3" with their instruction on how to place this freeze on your account.
A link to the Missouri Attorney General's Page about this can be found here.
A link to the actual statute can be found here.
2) ID NOT REQUIRED TO USE A CREDIT CARD
Maybe I am the only one, but I get annoyed when asked for a identification when using a Credit Card. I always feel like the salesperson is accusing me of using a stolen card and being an ID thief, while at the same time asking me to provide them with information they can use to steal my Identity. As the saying goes, why should I trust them when they won't trust me? Most salespeople are surprised when I tell them they cannot require my ID according to their agreement with the credit card companies. Here are links to Mastercard's Complaint Form and Visa's Operations Manual (page 468).

It is always easier not to get involved with shady businesses in the first place than to try to get your money back later. If the price is too good to be true, your suspicions should be aroused and are probably right.
